Some of us have owned them in the past. Some of the younger folks see them and ask why they were ever made. These are the cars that you look back on and say “wow, that was an ugly car”.
This months Ugly Duckling award goes to the Ford Pinto. Although when most of us remember the Ford Pinto we may not necessarily remember it for how ugly it was, but rather for its propensity to burst into flames under hard rear end collisions, apparently caused by a faulty fuel system design. The Pinto came with a four cylinder motor that could get you embarassed by a kid on a bicycle when accelerating. Below is an original Ford Pinto commercial.
